Everybody’s darling, captain of the cheerleader team, prom queen of her senior year in High School and a very distinct sense for fashion are what describe Payton Sykes better than anything else. But what most people fail to recognize is the fact that all the friends Payton finds herself surrounded by are just as shallow as the fountains in Manhattan Mall. The blonde grew up in a small town near Toronto and was basically a country girl, whose biggest dream was to become a professional equestrian back when she was four years old. Her parents died in a tragic car accident when she was seven, which is why she was forced to move in with her aunt Grace, who was living in the US. Once she had settled in and grown fond of the life people led on the Upper East Side of New York, Payton soon figured being the nice country girl was not getting her anywhere.
It wasn’t until tenth grade that the blonde started to change her ways and scheme in order to make new friends by driving a wedge between others. Never had it crossed the beauty’s mind that people were just spending time with her because she had turned into the embodiment of an It-Girl and out of fear she might make their lives a living hell. People don’t like her for what she is but for what they think she is. Payton loves being the center of attention but will she be able to remain as popular as she was in High School? And how long will it take for her to open her eyes and realize how fake all of her friends are?
